Public webinar Dec. 16 to discuss Red Bug Lake surface water model peer review
PALATKA, Fla., Dec. 2, 2020 — The St. Johns River Water Management District will hold a public webinar on Dec. 16 to discuss initial peer review comments on the surface water model that will be used to develop minimum flows and levels (MFLs) for Red Bug Lake in Seminole County, within the Central Florida Water Initiative (CFWI) planning area.

The webinar will include a presentation and discussion of the surface water model that will be used in support of the development and/or assessment of minimum levels for Red Bug Lake. The virtual meeting will include discussion of initial peer review comments of the model, model calibration and long-term simulations, and staff will take stakeholder comment on the model.
Establishing MFLs is an important component of the District’s work of planning for adequate water supplies for today and for future generations while also protecting the District’s water resources.
