Learn about Florida’s water resources in free webinar series
PALATKA, Fla., April 27, 2020 — The St. Johns River Water Management District will hold a series of Thursday morning educational webinars, beginning April 30, to explore the agency’s work to manage and protect water resources while engaging everyone to do their part.
These free, half-hour educational webinars begin at 10:30 a.m.:
- April 30: “Protecting Our Water Resources and Providing Water for People” will explore where north and east-central Florida gets its water and share information about district projects to improve water quality, recharge the aquifer and protect the state’s natural systems. Register here.
- May 7: “Water Conservation: It’s About Today and Tomorrow” will discuss how water managers are working to ensure adequate water supply now and into the future, how water is used, the important role of water conservation, recommend ways to conserve water and save on your water bill. Register here.
- May 14: “Water Flows Downhill: How Your Yard Can Impact Water Quality” focuses on how residential landscapes influence water quality. Learn the terms used to describe water quality and focus on actions you can take in your yard to decrease your landscape footprint on the region’s water resources. The webinar also will discuss the importance of using waterwise plants and proper irrigation maintenance and offer tips to reduce nutrient loss from landscapes. Register here.
