MAITLAND, Fla., Oct. 6, 2016 — Effective immediately, the Lake Apopka Wildlife Drive, and all lands owned by the St. Johns River Water Management District, are closed to public access and recreation.
While it’s expected the wildlife drive will reopen Monday, Oct. 10, the area will remain closed until staff have time to assess and clean up properties after the storm to ensure the public’s safety. During a storm, the latest information is available on the district’s website at www.sjrwmd.com, including links to office closures, flooding information, water levels, links to flood statements and warnings, river stages, local government emergency contacts and other resources.
