District closes offices and public lands in preparation for Hurricane Matthew
PALATKA, Fla., Oct. 5, 2016 — The St. Johns River Water Management District will close its offices districtwide on Thursday and Friday to give employees time to prepare their homes for Hurricane Matthew. Additionally, all district public lands are closing as of sunset today.
The Palm Bay Service Center closed at 3 p.m. today for employees to prepare for the storm and will remain closed on Thursday and Friday. The Palatka headquarters, Maitland and Jacksonville service centers and all field offices will be closed Thursday and Friday.
The Governing Board site tour scheduled for Monday in Volusia County has been canceled, and the regular monthly board meeting will be held in Palatka on Tuesday, Oct. 11, instead of offsite as previously planned.
